Perdue and Kemp Continue Infighting, Fail to Address Crucial Issues in Second GOP Gov. Debate

April 28, 2022

During the second GOP gubernatorial primary debate, the “raw hatred” seen in the first debate was again on full display as David Perdue and Brian Kemp continued their bitter infighting. Neither candidate addressed their worrying positions on crucial issues facing Georgians, like access to health care, supporting public schools, or strengthening public safety. The Democratic Party of Georgia released the following statement in response:

“Georgians can’t afford to have David Perdue or Brian Kemp as our next governor – both support policies that will lead to more gun violence, rising health care costs, and underfunded public schools. Every time Perdue or Kemp speak, Georgians are reminded that neither has plans to address the real issues facing working people across the state – instead, we have a candidate focused on debunked election claims and another candidate embracing some of the most extreme policies in Georgia’s history just to shore up support from the MAGA base in the face of attacks from Donald Trump,” said Scott Hogan, Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Georgia.
