On National Vote Early Day, Georgia Voters Break Records As Total Ballots Surpass 2.5 Million

October 24, 2020

ATLANTA – Today, on National Vote Early Day, Georgia voters continue to break records across the state as we head into the last full week of early voting. Enthusiasm for Democratic candidates has drawn Georgians to the polls, despite long lines and technical difficulties. Voters are encouraged to continue to return their absentee ballots and take advantage of Saturday voting. See the historic numbers below.

“It’s clear that Georgia voters are excited to participate in this historic election and that Georgia Democrats have the momentum,” said Scott Hogan, Executive Director for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “After four years of Trump’s failed leadership, Georgians are ready for a change and they’re coming out early to make their voices heard. They’re tired of this administration’s relentless assault on protections for pre-existing conditions and Georgia Republicans’ refusal to expand Medicaid. That’s why Georgia voters are going to take this historic opportunity to flip the State House, send 16 electoral votes to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, kick David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler out of office, and vote for Democrats up and down the ballot.”

Georgians can find their early voting locations here and ballot drop box locations at https://gaballotdropbox.org. The Democratic Party of Georgia’s Voter Protection Hotline at 888-730-5816 is available to help all Georgia voters, regardless of party, with any question or issue at the polls.
