Georgia Democrats on Labor Day

Today, in honor of Labor Day, Democratic Party of Georgia Chairwoman Nikema Williams released the following statement:

“This Labor Day, we are proud to celebrate and honor working Georgians across our state. Now more than ever, we must recognize and honor the contributions of our essential workers, while we fight to get economic relief and good union jobs for working families across our state.

As a party, we are proud to operate out of the IBEW Building in Atlanta, and partner every day with the labor unions who represent workers across our state. From the 40 hour work week to paid leave to health care protections, the labor movement has fought for everything that helps working families lead a good life. As Trump and Republicans wage war on workers and collective bargaining, we must fight back to support our working families and put people above profit.

Georgia Democrats know that working families keep our economy going, not CEOs and hedge fund managers. That’s why we’re fighting to elect Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats across Georgia who will fight for good wages and good jobs, so we can build back better for every single worker across our country.

As we approach the final stretch of this campaign, we’re proud to keep standing with labor unions to help every Georgian have a chance to thrive.”
