KELLY’S (DE)TOUR: After Avoiding the Issues On Her Entire Statewide Tour, Last Chance for Loeffler to Answer Georgians’ Questions

July 17, 2020

Loeffler has dodged key issues while pledging to stand with her party “100%”

ATLANTA — Today, as unelected “political mega-donor” Senator Kelly Loeffler begins her final day of her “All About Georgia” statewide tour, the Democratic Party of Georgia is calling on her at long last to skip the (de)tour and answer literally any of the questions she has avoided while jetting around the state:

  1. Where does Loeffler stand on the GOP-backed lawsuit to overturn the entire health care law and end its critical protections for 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions?
  2. With the state budget slashing nearly $1 billion from education and more than $2 billion overall, does Loeffler support federal aid for state and local governments, or will she continue standing with Mitch McConnell who pushed for states to have “an option” to just “use the bankruptcy route”?
  3. After her coronavirus stock trading scandal, why won’t Loeffler follow “The Isakson Standard” and put her assets into a blind trust?
  4. Does Loeffler agree with President Donald Trump that reports about Russia placing bounties on US troops are a “hoax,” or will she hold the Trump administration accountable for their lack of action?
  5. Will Loeffler support extending critical expanded unemployment insurance for Georgians impacted by the coronavirus crisis, or will she follow Mitch McConnell’s lead to block extension of this crucial relief?

“Senator Kelly Loeffler has managed to jet around the state for nearly two weeks,” said Alex Floyd, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “If Loeffler really wants to be ‘all about Georgia,’ she should start by answering Georgians’ questions.”
