ICYMI: Kemp Incredulously Asks How to Slow COVID-19 Spread As He Rejects Mask or Vaccine Requirements

August 31, 2021

As Brian Kemp continues to ignore desperate pleas from parents, hospitals, and public health officials to help mitigate COVID-19 spread with mask or vaccine requirements, yesterday he incredulously implied he was doing everything he could to curb the spread of the virus.

When asked if he thought he was doing enough to slow the spread of COVID-19, Kemp unironically said, “If you have any good ideas how we can further slow the spread, I’d be open to them.

However, Kemp refuses to implement basic public health measures like mask or vaccine requirements – which are proven to slow the spread of the virus and save lives – out of fear of “causing division” or “causing people’s blood pressure to go up.”

“Brian Kemp is showing how little he cares about Georgians’ lives and how out of touch he is with the crisis that Georgia schools, hospitals, and communities are facing. Kemp knows exactly what to do to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Georgia – he is simply more worried about upsetting his voting base than he is about protecting the Georgians he represents,” said Rebecca Galanti, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Every day that Brian Kemp prioritizes placating his base over trying to save lives, more Georgians will needlessly die on his watch.”
