ATLANTA — Last week, State Representative Carolyn Hugley and advocates for military families came together in Columbus to speak out against Senator David Perdue skipping oversight hearings on the poor housing conditions facing military families at bases including Georgia’s Fort Benning.

Perdue missed multiple hearings on this critical issue facing military families over the past year — including one case where he skipped his oversight duties to attend a donor event instead. Georgia military families, meanwhile, have had to contend with subpar housing conditions at facilities like Fort Benning first reported as far back as 2018.
