Happy Holidays from the DPG

Merry Christmas, everyone!

In this season of giving and sharing, may your families be blessed with peace and love.

As we open our homes to loved ones and dear friends, let us remember those who are less fortunate than us. While many of us are scrambling for last minute gifts, there are families across the state wondering how they will afford life’s most essential necessities like food, shelter, and health care.

This should be a season of turning away from those things which are trivial and small and, in the words of President Johnson, “a turning toward those things which are true, those things which are profound, and those things which are eternal.”

2014 will prove a benchmark year for Georgia Democrats and before we become consumed with the campaign season ahead, let us endeavor to remember why we fight the good fight:  Men and women need the dignity of a well-paying job, children need the security of knowing there will be food on their table, and all Georgians deserve access to affordable health care.

In that spirit, I wish you a very happy holiday and a wonderful New Year.
