Georgia Democrats’ Statement on Historic Victory

Today, Democratic Party of Georgia Chairwoman Nikema Williams released the following statement:

“The votes have been counted, and Georgia Democrats have made history — Georgia is a blue state. I am so incredibly thrilled to send Georgia’s 16 electoral votes to President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris.

Today’s victory is the result of years of hard work by organizers and volunteers across this state who believed in the power of Georgia voters, and who listened to them. Most importantly, this is not about one person or one election cycle — this is about Georgia voters finding their collective voice to change our state.

Our work isn’t done — Georgia Democrats have made history, and we’re ready to do it again by sending two Democratic senators to Congress on January 5th. Our future is bright and blue.”
