Georgia Democrats, college students, slam Trump’s incompetent leadership, reckless school reopening push

Yesterday, Georgia college students called out Donald Trump’s failed response to COVID-19 and its effects on their collegiate school year. Because of Trump and Kemp’s mismanagement of the pandemic, Georgia colleges have already experienced high numbers of students testing positive and record spikes in college towns, including 821 new cases in the last week at the University of Georgia, Kemp’s alma mater. WGXA: College students across Georgia speak on Trump, Kemp’s school reopening plan: Students took aim at President Trump saying because of his “mismanagement of the pandemic”, colleges have already experienced high numbers of students testing positive for the virus and case spikes in college towns. That includes over 800 new cases in the last week at the University of Georgia, Governor Kemp’s alma mater.

WSB-TV: “The safety aspect of having a traditional college experience has been ruined because of the lack of leadership,” said UGA student Adrianna Mbunwe, who is also with the Young Democrats.

11Alive: It was the focus of a round table by the Georgia Democrats on Thursday where students all over Georgia expressed their concern about what college looks like now. “I think we shouldn’t have even been on campus this semester due to the rise in cases, so it’s all about minimizing risk now. So the traditional college experience is not something that we are going to see,” said one of the student speakers.
