DPG Statement on Herschel Walker No-Showing Atlanta Senate Debate

Tonight, after GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker failed to show up for the Atlanta Press Club’s Senate debate with Reverend Raphael Warnock, the Democratic Party of Georgia released the following statement:

“After a humiliating debate performance this past Friday in which Herschel Walker once again lied to Georgia voters, it’s disappointing but not surprising that he chose not to show up tonight,” said Congresswoman Nikema Williams, Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia. “It’s no wonder Walker doesn’t want to debate. While Reverend Warnock has a record of fighting for Georgia families, Walker has repeatedly lied to Georgians about every aspect of his life. If Walker can’t show up to answer questions voters still have about his pattern of lies, bad policies, and disturbing conduct, Georgians can’t trust him to show up for them in the U.S. Senate.”
