Democratic Party of Georgia Statement on Absentee Ballot Applications in DeKalb County

October 26, 2018

ATLANTA- Democratic Party of Georgia Executive Director Rebecca DeHart issued the following statement:

“The Democratic Party of Georgia is deeply concerned about the DeKalb County voters who submitted ballot applications but did not receive ballots, and we are committed to do our part to get to the bottom of what happened to these applications. But with less than two weeks to go before Election Day, it is our absolute top priority to inform these voters of how to make sure their vote is cast and counted.

“Any DeKalb County voter who applied for a mail-in ballot and is concerned about the status of their ballot should call our voter protection hotline at 1-888-730-5816. We can look up the status of your application and make sure that your vote is cast and counted.

“We are engaged in an all-hands-on-deck effort to encourage impacted voters to vote early in person. We have called and mailed these voters and we are giving rides to the polls. We are issuing public service announcements and hand delivering new applications for ballots to voters who cannot leave their homes. It is our hope that everyone will do their part to inform and assist voters so that their ballots can be cast and counted.”
