Democratic Party of Georgia Celebrates Pride Month

June 23, 2021

The Democratic Party of Georgia and its LGBTQ+ Caucus are recognizing Pride Month and celebrating Georgia’s LGBTQ community with a virtual event for supporters. Several local LGBTQ elected officials will join the event to discuss the importance of Pride, the issues affecting the LGBTQ community, and what Georgia Democrats are doing to engage the community going into 2022.

“This month, we are proud to celebrate Georgia’s LGBTQ+ community and to stand alongside them in the continued fight for equality and freedom from discrimination,” said Congresswoman Nikema Williams, Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia. “As we honor the bravery and resilience of every person who has engaged in the struggle for equal rights and representation, we recognize that there are still countless efforts in our state and across the nation to undermine the progress made and roll back rights. Georgia Democrats are committed this Pride Month and every month to uplifting the LGBTQ+ community, and we will not rest until everyone has equal protection under the law.”
