Democratic Party of Georgia Announces Keynote Speakers and Chairwoman’s Award Recipient for 2022 State Dinner

May 2, 2022

The Democratic Party of Georgia (DPG) announced today the keynote speakers for its 2022 State Dinner on May 13. U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) will be a special guest speaker, and the event will feature remarks from U.S. Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock, Leader Stacey Abrams, and Congresswoman Nikema Williams.

In addition to Reverend Warnock, Leader Abrams, Congresswoman Williams, and Georgia’s wider Democratic congressional delegation, Senator Klobuchar has been a fierce defender of voting rights in Washington. She sponsored the Freedom to Vote Act in the Senate and chairs the Senate Rules Committee, which has jurisdiction over federal elections.

Congresswoman Williams will also present the annual Chairwoman’s Award to Black Voters Matter Co-Founder LaTosha Brown, a leader in Southern grassroots organizing and civic engagement. The Chairwoman’s Award is awarded to a member of the community committed to uplifting the voices of Georgians and advancing equity, democracy, and positive social change.

This will be the Democratic Party of Georgia’s first in-person state dinner since 2019. The annual event provides an opportunity for party leaders and volunteers from across the state to gather, connect, and celebrate all Democrats have accomplished together while looking ahead to our continued success.
