Federal Judge Admonishes Kemp’s “Head in the Sand” Mismanagement in Curling v. Kemp Verdict

Kemp Should Resign as Secretary of State

ATLANTA – Today, the Democratic Party of Georgia responded to a scathing ruling in Curling v. Kemp, in which U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg admonished Brian Kemp for mismanaging his duties as Secretary of State.

“This ruling makes crystal clear that the best way to ensure a fair election this November would be for Brian Kemp to resign as Secretary of State,” Democratic Party of Georgia Executive Director Rebecca DeHart. “The Democratic Party of Georgia will continue to protect every eligible Georgian’s sacred right to vote. We encourage all Georgians to consider the convenience of voting by mail or voting early in person.”

Judge Totenberg said that Kemp and his lieutenants “buried their heads in the sand,” citing the “major data breach” and saying that Kemp’s mismanagement has “grave consequences beyond the result of any specific election.”

If Georgians have any questions about voting or if they see any effort to suppress the vote, they can contact the Democratic Party of Georgia’s voter protection hotline at 1-888-730-5816.
