Chairwoman Nikema Williams On Historic Nomination Of Kamala Harris As Our Next Vice President

Tonight, after the historic nomination of Senator Kamala Harris by the Democratic National Convention, Democratic Party of Georgia Chairwoman Nikema Williams released the following statement: 

“I am so proud tonight that Kamala Harris, the daughter of immigrants and the first Black woman on a major party ticket, has been officially nominated as the next Vice President of the United States. Kamala’s story is the American story — and with her nomination, little Black girls and little brown girls across our country will finally see themselves reflected in our nation’s top leadership. 

Kamala is ready to take on Donald Trump and Mike Pence, fight for those who feel unseen and unheard, and help Joe Biden and Democrats win up and down the ticket. Georgia Democrats are proud to fight by her side.”
