As Loeffler Tours Fort Gordon, Will She Condemn Trump’s Reported Comments Disparaging Fallen Servicemembers?

September 4, 2020

Loeffler must answer after reports that Trump referred to fallen servicemembers as “losers” and “suckers”

ATLANTA — Today, with Senator Kelly Loeffler set to visit Fort Gordon, it’s time for her to answer whether or not she’ll condemn President Donald Trump’s reported comments calling fallen US servicemembers “losers” and “suckers” and reportedly refusing to visit a cemetery where American troops were laid to rest.

Loeffler’s current silence on reports of Trump’s disgraceful remarks comes after the senator also refused to condemn Trump’s failure to respond to reports of Russia offering bounties to “Taliban-linked militants” to target American troops which possibly “resulted in the deaths of several U.S. service members.”

“It’s past time for Senator Kelly Loeffler to break her silence and answer what she thinks of the reports of these shameful remarks about fallen servicemembers from a president she’s pledged to back ‘100%,’’’ said Alex Floyd, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “These kinds of disrespectful comments about servicemembers who have made the ultimate sacrifice are disqualifying for a commander-in-chief, and Loeffler owes Georgia’s men and women in uniform an answer on whether she stands by these abhorrent comments.”
