New Video Shows Pence and Kemp Promoting Discrimination

Anti-Gay Legislation Wrecked Indiana’s Economy. Kemp Wants to Do the Same to Georgia.

ATLANTA — Today, the Democratic Party of Georgia released a new video highlighting Brian Kemp’s continued support for discriminatory legislation akin to the legislation in Indiana (signed by then-Governor Mike Pence) that wrecked the state’s economy. If elected, Brian Kemp would bring Pence’s job-killing discrimination to Georgia, despite opposition from the business community and LGBTQ Georgians.

According to the Atlanta Metro Chamber of Commerce, Georgia stands to lose more than $1 billion in revenue if Brian Kemp got his way and RFRA were enacted. More than 400 major Georgia employers oppose RFRA because it would be bad for the state’s economy and send the wrong message about Georgia. Georgia cannot afford discrimination, and Georgia cannot afford Brian Kemp.

LGBTQ Georgians from across the state are celebrating this weekend at Atlanta Pride. Brian Kemp refused to acknowledge the contributions of LGBTQ Georgians this weekend or at any point during his campaign, although he did advertise on Grindr.
