After Historic Convention, Georgia Democrats Launch Weekend of Action & New Voter Education Website To Mobilize Georgia Voters

August 21, 2020

Today, following an incredibly successful Democratic National Convention, the Democratic Party of Georgia (DPG) is holding a massive virtual Weekend of Action across the state to mobilize volunteers and help every Georgia voter make their plan to vote in the general election. As a part of this effort, the DPG is also launching a redesigned, voter education-centered website to help every Georgia voter cast their ballot safely.

“Georgia voters are fired up to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris after this convention, and Georgia Democrats are mobilizing that energy to win in November,” said Scott Hogan, Executive Director of the DPG. “After hosting over 250 virtual watch parties with fired-up supporters across the state, our team is going straight to Georgia voters to help them make their plan to vote, and find resources to do so safely. Our operation is firing on all cylinders, and we will get this done.”

This virtual weekend of action will focus on mobilizing voters, helping them find resources and assistance to make a plan to vote. The DPG’s new voting website puts voters first, compiling the resources needed for every step of the voting process, from checking your registration, to applying for an absentee ballot, to voting at an early voting site or on Election Day.

Georgians wishing to participate in the Weekend of Action and connect with organizing efforts across the state can find an event here.

The DPG’s voter protection team runs a 24 hour voter protection hotline to serve all voters in the state at every step of the voting process. We encourage all Georgia voters to contact the hotline for assistance casting their ballot by calling 888-730-5816.
