Deputy Finance Director

The Deputy Finance Director is responsible for creating and implementing an annual fundraising plan and directing the staff and Party in all fundraising activities. They should be skilled in managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously and while maintaining a sharp focus on details. They must be creative, organized, and persistent. The Deputy Finance Director will report to the Executive Director and collaborate with the entire Party team. Salary is commensurate with experience. 

Responsibilities: 

The Deputy Finance Director is responsible for directing all the vital revenue streams, which allow us to elect democrats at all levels, throughout the state. 

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Working with staff, consultants, and vendors on an aggressive fundraising strategy, including implementing an annual fundraising calendar, that comprises digital, direct mail, events, major donor, and other targeted fundraising campaigns. 
  • Develop and manage strategies geared towards the donor lifecycle and journey as it relates to acquisition, on-boarding, cultivation/engagement and retention from donors acquired via all channels, especially digital. 
  • Upkeep and maintain campaign database, including donor information and prospective extensive donor research
  • Work with the Executive Director, and Director of Operations to track income and adjust goals, as needed. 
  • Reporting income and expenses for all fundraising channels weekly, monthly, and oftentimes daily. 
  • Work with the organization’s fundraising committee on fundraising strategy decisions, public-facing messaging tactics, and other politically sensitive issues as appropriate. 
  • Managing call time, and developing call time strategies and schedule 
  • Directing teams of staff, interns, and volunteers in the planning and execution of events and other fundraising tactics. 
  • Direct the operations for yearly fundraisers, and donor appreciation events, as well as implement the yearly fundraising plan. 
  • Drafting fundraising and event communications, including acquiring approval from Chair, Executive Director, and elected officials, candidates, initiative campaigns, etc. This includes but is not limited to multiple weekly fundraising emails, donor reports, electoral reports, social media communications, and direct mail. 
  • Acting as point of contact for prospective and committed event sponsors. This includes following up on unanswered solicitations, confirming guests, and securing payment. 
  • Acting as point of contact for venue management and other vendors, such as catering and audio-visual providers. This includes determining appropriate room setup orders and timed, detailed event schedules.

  • Proven track record of raising funds from diverse sources. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 
  • A friendly and professional demeanor. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience in NGP-VAN; online event registration software
  • Demonstrated success in digital acquisition and fundraising campaigns.
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.

Deputy Digital Director

The Democratic Party of Georgia is seeking a Deputy Digital Director to join our Digital team. The Deputy Digital Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Digital program. This person will work closely with the Communications, Voter Protection, and Field teams to ensure our online program advances the organization’s fundraising, growth, messaging, and electoral priorities.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop content and engagement strategy for website, email, and social media outlets.
  • Oversee day-to-day workflow of the email and social media programs.
  • Ensure that our social media messaging promotes broader Digital department goals and aligns with the organization’s messaging.
  • Serve as a liaison with the Voter Protection and Field teams to develop content and engagement strategies for GOTV.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize our email program through testing.
  • Serve as a liaison with consultants, vendors, and stakeholders. This includes but is not limited to collaborating on ad strategy and coordinating website updates and new website initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience doing digital work, preferably in a political or nonprofit organization.
  • Strong knowledge of NGP.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience working with the WordPress CMS platform and understand the basics of CSS and HTML5.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing organizational social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, manage multiple tasks, and stay calm under pressure.

Digital Strategist

The Democratic Party of Georgia is seeking a Digital Strategist to support it’s online engagement, fundraising, and organizing efforts. The person will produce social media content, develop digital organizing strategy, and raise money online. This position will be required at times to work after hours and weekends for rapid response.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop content and engagement strategies for DPG’s email list and social media platforms.
  • Help develop innovative outreach strategies to reach our target audiences, generate social engagement, and get our message out.
  • Contribute to the digital copywriting process ensuring that all messages are held to stringent standards of grammar, accuracy, functioning links, etc.
  • Draft daily social media content, including but not limited to graphics and videos.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Photoshop, Illustrator, graphic design and video experience.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to complete digital fundraising and social copy quickly.
  • Familiarity with NGP is preferred, but not required.
  • Commitment to the Democratic Party of Georgia’s mission.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS — any other coding knowledge is a major benefit.
