Trump has learned nothing three years after McCain’s historic vote rejecting his attempt to repeal the ACA

July 28, 2020

ATLANTA — Today, on the three-year anniversary of Sen. John McCain’s “thumb down” vote to block Trump and Republicans from repealing the Affordable Care Act, Trump has shown us he has learned nothing, forging ahead with a lawsuit to eliminate the Affordable Care Act in the midst of a pandemic. If the Trump-backed lawsuit is successful, it would eliminate protections for Georgians  with preexisting conditions, take away Georgians’ health coverage, and spike costs.

“Time and time again, voters and our leaders in Congress have rejected Trump’s cynical attempts to overturn the Affordable Care Act, because we know this law works,” said Maggie Chambers, communications director for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “The ACA has significantly reduced the number of uninsured; helped Georgians get the health care they need; and helped keep them from being bankrupted just because they get sick. Joe Biden will protect and build on the Affordable Care Act to give Americans more choice, reduce health care costs, and make our health care system less complex. The stakes could not be higher — we must elect Joe Biden as our next president.”

If Trump gets his way and the ACA is overturned…
