Sen. Jen Jordan and Rep. Erick Allen Hold Perdue and Loeffler Accountable for Failed Coronavirus Response in Canton

November 20, 2020

213 days after the last coronavirus relief package, Perdue and Loeffler remain more focused on distracting from their scandals than helping Georgians

ATLANTA — Today, State Senator Jen Jordan and State Representative Erick Allen held a press conference in Canton ahead of Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to bail out Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler as both senators struggle to manage the fallout from their growing ethics scandals.

More than 200 days have passed since the last coronavirus relief package — yet both Perdue and Loeffler continue to march in lockstep with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to stall relief while putting themselves and their financial interests ahead of Georgians.

“Georgians have already waited 213 days on coronavirus relief,” said Allen. “But David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are still blocking desperately needed aid for our communities.”

“It’s clear cut that Loeffler and Perdue are doing everything within their power to win reelection because at the end of the day they’re just trying to help themselves,” said Jordan. “They can’t even be bothered to pass some relief to help Georgians.”
