Rep. Miriam Paris Holds Perdue and Loeffler Accountable for Their Failed Coronavirus Response

November 19, 2020

Perdue and Loeffler have allowed relief to stall for over 200 days while instead choosing to campaign with their fellow DC insiders

ATLANTA — Today, State Representative Miriam Paris held a press conference at the Georgia National Fairgrounds ahead of Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler’s event with fellow Washington insider Senator Tom Cotton to hold these senators accountable for putting their political and financial interests ahead of needed coronavirus relief.

212 days have passed since the last coronavirus relief package — and Perdue and Loeffler remain in lockstep with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s commitment to stalling critical aid while they both dismiss the need for greater relief at a time when Georgians need it most.

“We can’t afford partisan obstruction from corrupt and self-serving Washington politicians like David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler when lives are on the line and people are suffering,” said Paris. “We need Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock in the Senate to get COVID-19 under control, pass real economic relief for small businesses and working families, and protect 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions.”
