Major Revelation From Independent Group Proves Kemp’s False Accusations Were A Pathetic Attempt To Cover Up For His Failures

ATLANTA — Today, Rebecca DeHart, executive director of the Democratic Party of Georgia, issued the following statement:

“Within the past hour it was revealed that Brian Kemp’s office, along with the FBI, was notified by a third party yesterday morning regarding a major security vulnerability of Georgia’s elections database. This major revelation makes crystal clear that Kemp’s false accusations against the Democratic Party of Georgia were nothing more than a pathetic attempt to cover up for his failures.

“Unlike Brian Kemp, who leaked 6 million Georgians’ Social Security numbers, we are deeply concerned with Georgians’ personal information. We were disturbed but not surprised that when Brian Kemp learned of major vulnerabilities to Georgians’ personal information, he didn’t work to fix the problem. He didn’t warn Georgians that their personal information may be compromised. He instead launched politically motivate accusations against his political opponents. This is yet another example of Brian Kemp not doing his job, blaming others for his failures, and abusing the power of his office for political gain — all two days before the election. It was a creative, but pathetic attempt to cover up his own failures. Brian Kemp cannot be trusted to do his job, he cannot be trusted to oversee this election, he cannot be trusted to tell the truth, and he cannot be trusted to be governor.

“The best way for Georgians to fight back against Brian Kemp’s cynical ploys and voter suppression tactics is to vote, knock on doors, and talk to their friends and neighbors. While Brian Kemp abuses his office in a last-ditch attempt to win this election, we’ll be doing what we’ve always done: motivating supporters to get out and vote.”
