A new report from the Washington Post reveals that prominent anti-choice leader Marjorie Dannenfelser, head of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, former New Jersey Governor Christ Christie, and the Republican Governors Association have been at the center of planning for state-level abortion bans, scheming with Republican governors behind closed doors on how they can restrict abortion in the months before the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
Dannenfelser and Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America are strong supporters of Gov. Brian Kemp, thanking him for signing his dangerous abortion ban into law and applauding his actions to roll back Georgians’ reproductive rights. The extreme group also endorsed his 2022 campaign and has invested in a team that has canvassed over 230,000 Georgia homes to “elect champions like Governor Kemp.”
After speaking with Dannenfelser at a Republican Governors Association meeting, Chris Christie decided to “team up” and support her efforts to plan state level abortion bans. The pair met with “at least eight Republican governors,” across the country and “Dannenfelser has spoken with many more governors on her own — at least 22 in total.” Dannenfelser said that Christie was helpful especially with “governors who are in purple-y type states.”
Christie visited Georgia to campaign with Kemp in May, just weeks before Roe v. Wade was overturned and Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America’s canvassers were also in Georgia in May — raising the question of whether they spoke with Kemp about plans to further restrict abortion.
The primary goals of Dannenfelser and Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America show the extent of their extreme plans to restrict choice and other freedoms. They’re going all in to re-elect Kemp and further their extreme anti-choice agenda:
