Brian Kemp Uses Tourism Forum to Tout Legislation That’s Bad for Georgia’s Economy

August 29, 2018

ATLANTA – Earlier this evening, Brian Kemp used an appearance before Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus as an opportunity to reiterate his support for discriminatory legislation that would hurt Georgia’s economy.

“For Brian Kemp to go before the tourism bureau and talk about his support for policies that are bad for tourism is quite astounding,” said Democratic Party of Georgia LGBTQ Caucus Chair Colton Griffin. “Make no mistake: the legislation Brian Kemp supports will discriminate against the LGBTQ community and create an economic disaster for all of Georgia. We’ve seen this movie before in Indiana, in North Carolina, and in other states. Georgia will not thrive unless we attract the best and the brightest to our state. In order for Georgia to thrive, we cannot have Brian Kemp as governor.”

More than 400 Georgia companies, including members of Georgia’s vibrant film industry, oppose the kind of discriminatory legislation Kemp supports.
