MARTA chief executive: “It is the lifeblood of a growing economy, investing in transit like we’re prepared to do.”
Georgians sent President Joe Biden to the White House to bring people together and get things done – and the President is delivering on that promise. Supported by a bipartisan group of Senators, President Biden’s historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will make the largest federal investment in public transit in U.S. history, and Georgia stands to win big from this long overdue investment.
The deal makes a new $39 billion investment to modernize transit, improve accessibility for the elderly and people with disabilities, repair and upgrade aging infrastructure, modernize bus and rail fleets, make stations more accessible to all users, and bring transit service to new communities across Georgia and the country.
