Georgia Republicans Issue Statements On 178K Georgians Who Have Lost Insurance During the Coronavirus Outbreak

Study shows Georgia with one of the highest uninsured rates in the nation while GOP continues pushing lawsuit to completely overturn the health care law in a pandemic

ATLANTA — Following a new report showing that 178,000 Georgians have lost their health insurance coverage during the coronavirus pandemic, Georgia’s Republican Senate contenders released the following statements about their party’s efforts to overturn the entire health care law and end its critical protections for 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions in light of these latest numbers:

Of course, Georgia’s GOP Senate candidates have been silent on the 178,000 Georgians who’ve lost their health coverage during the pandemic, and have yet to address what would happen to millions of Americans who would lose their coverage if their party’s reckless lawsuit succeeds. Instead, they’d rather tie themselves to President Donald Trump ahead of his visit tomorrow even as Trump continues with his pledge to “terminate” the law.
