Georgia Democrats On June Labor Report

July 2, 2020

ATLANTA – Today, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released a report showing that more than 17 million Americans are still out of work, with the unemployment rate remaining above 11 percent.

Democratic Party of Georgia Executive Director Scott Hogan released the following statement:

“Under Donald Trump’s failed leadership on coronavirus, our economy is struggling and Georgians have lost their livelihoods. As Georgia braces for an alarming surge in COVID-19 cases, thousands of people are without both jobs and health insurance in the middle of a pandemic. We need our leaders to be listening to the experts — but instead, Donald Trump is ignoring this crisis and making it worse for Georgia. This November, Georgians will turn out in record numbers for a leader who listens to doctors and puts our health first when we elect Joe Biden for President, and restore the health and soul of our nation.”
