Democratic Party of Georgia Statement on SAFE Commission’s Decision to Put Vendors Before Voters

ATLANTA — Today, Democratic Party of Georgia Voter Protection Director Sara Tindall Ghazal issued the following statement following today’s SAFE Commission meeting:

“Georgia voters should be outraged that Brian Kemp’s SAFE Commission chose to rush forward vendor-driven recommendations, rather than give Georgia’s election security the thoughtful evaluation and thorough investigation it deserves. Instead of listening to the experts and voters across the state who have encouraged caution, they came into the meeting with pre-written recommendations that were never shared with the public. It is reckless and irresponsible to attempt to build a new system without a full investigation into the challenges of the past— challenges that Brian Kemp has refused to acknowledge, much less investigate.”
