Democratic Party of Georgia Statement on President Biden’s Re-election Campaign Announcement

Following the announcement of President Biden and Vice President Harris’ re-election campaign today, Congresswoman Nikema Williams, Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia, released the following statement:

“Georgia Democrats are proud to stand behind President Biden and Vice President Harris in their re-election campaign. 

“Over the past two years, the Biden-Harris agenda has delivered historic wins for Georgia – lowering costs for working families, fighting to protect our rights, and growing our economy from the bottom up and the middle out. Thanks to President Biden’s leadership, Georgians are benefiting from revitalized infrastructure, record-low unemployment and new good-paying jobs, thousands of dollars in savings on prescription drugs and energy costs, and more.

“But the work isn’t done. MAGA extremists are fighting tooth and nail to take us backward by slashing Social Security and Medicare, banning abortion, putting the gun lobby ahead of our lives, and curtailing voting rights. The work continues to defend our democracy, our freedoms, and the historic progress we’ve made toward a state and country where everyone can thrive.
