Democratic Party of Georgia Statement on AJC Investigation of Speaker David Ralston

ATLANTA – Thursday, a joint Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Channel 2 Action News investigation found that Georgia Speaker of the House David Ralston has repeatedly utilized his legislative leave privileges as an elected official to delay hearings and court dates.

Democratic Party of Georgia spokeswoman Maggie Chambers released the following statement:

“These revelations show that Speaker Ralston has abused his power as a public servant to delay and deny justice for crime victims. As a legislator who has been given the trust of his constituents, he needs to remember his duty and put the needs of Georgia families before his own self-interest.”
