Democratic Party of Georgia Responds to Attorney General Carr Using the Pandemic as a Political Prop

September 17, 2021

Yesterday, Attorney General Chris Carr followed Brian Kemp’s lead in turning measures to keep Georgians safe from the spread of COVID-19 into political theater as he pledges to actively work against defeating the pandemic. While President Biden and Democrats take bold action to get our communities vaccinated and put our economy back on track, Georgia Republicans continue to stand in the way of public health and safety.

While Georgia Republicans fight against measures to lower COVID-19 cases, on Tuesday, Axios released a survey showing that 60 percent of Americans approve of the Biden COVID-19 plan, and on Monday, Politico released a poll with Morning Consult revealing that the President’s latest policies are supported by roughly 3 in 5 Americans.

“Georgia Republicans are endangering our communities, small businesses, workers, and families with their pro-COVID antics, and enough is enough,” Rhyan Lake, spokeswoman for the Democratic Party of Georgia, said. “Chris Carr, Brian Kemp, and the Georgia GOP should stop playing games with Georgians’ lives and stand with the vast majority of Georgians and Americans who support President Biden’s bold plan to defeat this pandemic.”
