Democratic Party of Georgia Expands Communications Operation, Bringing on Rapid Response Director to Highlight Biden-Harris Administration Accomplishments

July 6, 2021

Today, the Democratic Party of Georgia announced the expansion of its communications operation, hiring Rhyan Lake to serve as Rapid Response Director. In this role, she will focus on the Biden-Harris administration, specifically how President Biden and Democrats’ agenda is helping Georgia families and workers.

“We are excited to continue growing our team for the upcoming election cycle, and we’re thrilled to have Rhyan on board as we spread the message in every corner of the state of how the Biden-Harris administration and Democrats are helping Georgia build back better,” said Scott Hogan, Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Rhyan brings a wealth of experience and deep knowledge of Georgia politics, which will be a huge asset to our team. With our expanded communications, organizing, and outreach operations, the DPG is in a stronger position than ever before heading into the 2022 midterm elections.”

“I am ecstatic to join the Democratic Party of Georgia and uplift how the Biden-Harris administration and Democrats are building Georgia back better,” said Rhyan Lake, spokeswoman for the Georgia Democratic Party. “The President’s historic American Rescue Plan has already boosted Georgia’s economy from the bottom up and middle out, cut taxes for the middle-class, raised wages for Georgia workers, and put checks directly in the pockets of Georgians who needed help. We will make sure that come 2022 midterms and beyond, Georgians know it was Biden and Democrats – and not a single Georgia Republican – who helped bring us out of the pandemic with unprecedented investments in America’s future.”

Rhyan most recently served as the Deputy Communications Director for Jennifer McClellan’s gubernatorial campaign in Virginia. Prior to that, Rhyan helped flip Georgia blue for the first time in three decades as the Deputy Press Secretary on Senator Jon Ossoff’s historic campaign after serving as Press Secretary on Jaime Harrison’s bid for U.S. Senate in South Carolina.
