Democratic Party of Georgia Announces State Convention on August 27 in Columbus

Today, the Democratic Party of Georgia announced that their 2022 State Convention, True Blue 2022, will take place on August 27 in Columbus. Democrats from all 159 counties will gather to conduct party business, train on election year best practices, and engage with our candidates from across the state. 

“Our State Convention will be an opportunity to celebrate the most extraordinary slate of candidates in Georgia Democrats’ history as we work to elect a blue ticket up and down the ballot. Georgia is the battleground state – our Democratic candidates are the future of our party,  the best of our state, and the protectors of our democracy,” said Congresswoman Nikema Williams, Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia. “We are so excited to bring together Democrats from across the state to witness our historic 2022 ticket take the stage in a celebration of our values and vision for Georgia, and to give the world a glimpse of the blue wave to come.”

“This year’s State Convention will celebrate what we all know to be true – Georgia is not just the premier battleground state in the nation, but a state that is continuously moving forward and turning bluer each cycle,” said Rebecca DeHart, Interim Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Our successes in 2020 and 2021 are a strong foundation to re-elect our incredible incumbent Democrats while flipping seats up and down the ballot, and we look forward to gathering Democrats from every corner of the state to build on our momentum and lay out the path to victory.”
