David Perdue Admits His Own Hypocrisy, Confirms He Won’t Pass Real Gun Violence Solution

August 7, 2019

ATLANTA – On Tuesday, as reported by 11Alive, Senator David Perdue confirmed that despite believing that the House Democrats’ bipartisan background check bill is “fine,” he won’t support it.

Instead, he whined about his fellow legislators, claiming that “the thing that’s missing is […] work[ing] on it in a bipartisan way.”

Three reasons why David Perdue has no room to talk:

  • David Perdue has voted with Trump for 95% of his career, making him one of the most partisan members of the Senate.

  • David Perdue voted against gun violence solutions eight days after the Pulse massacre, then the largest mass shooting in U.S. history.

  • David Perdue has taken $34,600 from the gun rights groups that are the reason gun violence in America still exists.

“If David Perdue was serious about addressing America’s gun violence epidemic, he’d vote for the bipartisan bill that’s already passed the House of Representatives,” said Maggie Chambers, spokeswoman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “We don’t have time for more pontificating about the bogeyman of partisanship from the man who is paid by the NRA and has voted with Trump 95% of the time. We need action, now.”
