Corrupt David Perdue: Skipping Votes, Missing Crucial Senate Hearings For High Dollar Fundraisers

December 17, 2020

Perdue has refused to debate Jon Ossoff in runoff and hasn’t held a single public town hall in his entire six year term

ATLANTA — Today, the Democratic Party of Georgia calls out Senator David Perdue’s perpetual absenteeism and blatant corruption. During his Senate term, he has missed several key hearings and votes, sometimes “in order to attend fundraisers,” instead of working for Georgia families and small businesses.

A CBS46 report recently revealed Senator David Perdue to be “among the Senate’s most absent members,” missing important hearings on ISIS, agriculture, and Russian interference in the 2016 election. The “frequent no-show” notoriously skipped a key hearing on military families in February of 2019 to attend a high-dollar donor event with his secret “Boardroom” instead.

Along with habitually disregarding his job in Washington, Perdue has a history of dodging the media and his constituents too, as revealed in another devastating CBS46 analysis which highlighted that only “donors” are seemingly “getting access to the Senator these days.” National and local press have slammed Perdue for refusing to debate his opponent in the January runoff and failing to host a single public town hall in his nearly six years in the Senate.

“Senator Perdue isn’t doing his job in Washington because he prioritizes lining his pockets and appeasing his corporate backers over helping working families in Georgia,” said Braxton Brewington, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Georgians are voting in droves in the runoff because they cannot count on Perdue to deliver results for them in Washington unless they fork over big checks for his campaign.”
