Kip Carr is the Treasurer of the Democratic Party of Georgia. Kip has served in numerous leadership roles within the Democratic Party including serving as a member of the West Virginia State Democratic Executive Committee in the early 1990s. More recently, Kip served as Chair of the 5th Congressional District and 4th Vice Chair of the Fulton County Democratic Party. Kip was a delegate to the State Democratic Convention in 1998, 2002, 2010 & 2014.
Kip was elected three times as Secretary of the Georgia State NAACP Conference, was appointed to the Fulton County Millennium Initiative Commission and currently serves on the Fulton County Board of Zoning Appeals. He was elected Foreperson on the Fulton County Grand Jury for the Fall, 2009 term.
He has been recognized in every edition of Who’s Who among African Americans since 1995, and has been listed on the Notable Kentucky African American database of the University of Kentucky since 1999. Kip was recognized in the 2014 publication of Who’s Who in Black Atlanta.
Kip is the managing partner of his own government relations firm, and lists City of Union City, GA among his previous clients. Kip served for more than 10 years as part of Fulton County’s Legislative Team, where he held the distinction of being the only county employee in the State of Georgia who was assigned full time to work at the Georgia General Assembly.
Kip was raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky and Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Kip studied history at Shepherd University and public relations at Western Kentucky University.
