Saxon focuses on the issues at Congressional debate

GREENSBORO, Ga. - Bobby Saxon joined primary opponents Friday night for a Tenth Congressional District candidate forum in Greene County, sponsored by the Citizens Involvement Committee of the Reynolds Plantation community.  While the incumbent, Broun, and his primary challenger, Fleming, used the opportunity to continue attacking each other, Saxon kept his presentation focused on the issues.

"I am pleased to announce a tremendous success for our campaign following a forum Friday night, featuring myself and the two other candidates for the Tenth Congressional District seat," said Saxon.  "During the event, the contrast between my candidacy and those of my opponents were made clear: while we're running on a platform of responsibility and accountability, my opponents are content to continue their personal brands of agenda-based politics.  I know that mudslinging makes good political theater, but the people in the 10th District deserve a Congressman who is going to put the political games aside and focus on what really matters.  We heard a lot from Mr. Fleming about Congressman Broun's shortcomings, but what we didn't hear from either were concrete plans to create jobs, make health care affordable, and lower our taxes."

Bobby Saxon is an Iraq War combat veteran and small business owner from Nicholson, Georgia.  He is a Major in the Georgia Army National Guard and has served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Pentagon.  Bobby is actively involved with Bethany United Methodist Church, is a member of the American Legion Post 56 in Jefferson, GA and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2872 in Athens, GA.
