Happy Independence Day from the Democratic Party of Georgia
7/3/2008232 years ago, a small group of citizen-leaders, after much discussion and debate, resolved to launch a great experiment - a truly representative government, built on the then-unheard-of principle that all people are created equal, and that, further, there are basic human and civil rights which extend to everyone in our nation. With their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor at stake, they embarked on our grand national journey.
And on that day, America was born.

Meet Georgia's 2008 Convention Delegation!
In August, 132 Georgians will travel to Denver, Colorado as part of the Georgia delegation to the Democratic National Convention. Joining our 102 Georgia voting delegates will be 15 alternates, 12 standing committee members, and 3 convention pages.

Christine Gomez
Christine Gomez is a student at Georgia Perimeter College studying psychology and law. Every week she spends a day working on our election protection program, calling and inviting people to events or helping with mailings. Christine also works at a local restaurant and in her spare time volunteers with Aid Atlanta and the Humane Society.
