Job Description

Want to break into politics?  Get to know the names and faces of Georgia’s leading Democrats and help us support Democrats around the state by interning with the Democratic Party of Georgia (DPG). The DPG is currently seeking responsible and capable individuals who are interested in learning first-hand about politics.

Internships with the DPG frequently catapult qualified individuals into jobs in politics, and are a great way to help Democrats win in future elections!  DPG internships require a time commitment of at least 15 hours per week.

The internship program will run the length of an academic period (fall, spring or summer). Internships are unpaid and interns will be working at our State Party headquarters in Atlanta, GA

Internship Focus Areas:

DPG interns focus on one particular area of operations and Party activity.   At times, however, all interns will assist in whatever areas needed. Focus Areas include: Communications & Press, Political, Finance & Compliance, Field, Outreach & Research.


Internship Responsibilities:

Responsibilities associated with an internship may include monitoring the media, various writing projects, event planning, research, voter outreach, list management, and various special projects as needed by the Party and DPG staff.

Qualified interns should…

  1. Be dependable, detail-oriented, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment;
  2. Be interested in the political process as well as be knowledgeable about Democratic Party issues;
  3. Consider themselves a Democrat;
  4. Be available to work at least 15 hours each week Monday through Friday.

Interns play a vital role in Party operations, and we rely a great deal on our interns to produce high-level work. Attire is Business Casual
